It gives me great pleasure to note that the Placement Programme has entered into the eighth year and is already a resounding success. It is highly satisfying to note that our students have been doing extremely well in the corporate world. Whether it is Banking or Investment Planning or Forecasting through macromodelling or Marketing or Media or Academia-the economics graduates from the Delhi School of Economics have left an indelible mark whichever path they have treaded.

At the risk of blowing ones's own trumpet, I have no hesitation in saying that probably we run the best Masters programme in Economics in our country. The students are admitted through a rigorous admission test. Supported by some of the best faculty in various areas and with an excellent academic infrastructure, they are trained to acquire expertise in both theoretical and quantitative tools, emphasizing analytical rigour.I believe that the value addition in our programme, far exceeds the value addition in typical B'Schools. I will not be surprised if, in the years to come, the corporate houses flood our corridors to recruit some of the best trained economists in the country-who are disciplined, diligent and know how to reach the bottomline.
